Gowling WLG launch in Canada

"Gowling WLG's Contest Creator is a faster, cheaper and easier way to generate rules for a promotional contest."

Gowling WLG launched on PartnerVine today. Gowling WLG is selling Contest Creator, a product that generates rules for promotional contests in Canada. Last week, Contest Creator won a 2021 Precedent Innovation Award.

“We’re excited to be launching on PartnerVine,” says Mark Tamminga, a partner and the Leader of Innovation Initiatives at Gowling WLG, “PartnerVine is a great way for us to sell a standard version of our software. We’re thrilled to be a part of it.”

“Gowling WLG provides extraordinary value to its clients through the delivery of legal services with software,” says Jordan Urstadt, CEO of PartnerVine. “We’re thrilled to be able to offer that software in Canada directly for sale online. There is no better solution for generating a set of rules for promotional contests in Canada.”

Contest Creator generates rules for promotional contests under the laws of Canada. The user generates the rules by answering a short list of questions. For anyone that wants to run a promotional contest in Canada, Contest Creator is a fast, cost-effective and easy way to generate the rules required for that contest. Drafting legally compliant contest rules is traditionally a complex process that requires considerable input from legal counsel. This process can be burdensome, time-consuming and costly. Contest Creator tailors the rules in response to the questionnaire answers provided, generating rules quickly and cost-effectively, although it is worth noting that Contest Creator does not substitute for the advice of qualified counsel.

Gowling WLG has been building automated solutions for its largest clients for well over a decade. In addition to the most advanced automated service offering for debt collection in Canada, Gowling WLG has pioneered automation in the areas of loan placement and civil litigation, among others. Contest Creator is the first Gowling WLG offering directly to the public.

Promotional contest rules are the rules governing contests that serve as a binding legal contract between the contest's sponsor and each entrant. Canada has federal and provincial rules governing how a promotional contest can be run, regulating issues like conditions of entry, conditions an entrant needs to satisfy in order to win, and the contest information that must be disclosed. Contest Creator guides a user through relevant considerations, guidance and warnings to generate applicable rules for their contest.
