Understand your claim for discrimination
Every discrimination claim is based on a law and the court cases that interpret that law. If you don't know the law, you won't know if you have a claim. Traditionally, that has meant that you have to hire a lawyer to explain the law and tell you if you have a valid claim. With the Discrimination Claims Navigator, you can receive your own initial guidance quickly and easily online.
The Discrimination Claims Navigator works best at providing you an initial analysis of the strength of your claims, which you can then take to counsel if you want to go forward. The Discrimination Claims Navigator also includes an optional free feature that recommends a lawyer for you.
The Discrimination Claims Navigator covers the following areas of discrimination:
- race,
- gender,
- religion,
- sex (including pregnancy, gender identity and sexual orientation),
- national origin,
- age,
- disability, and
- genetic information.
The Discrimination Claims Navigator covers US federal law. It does not cover state or local law. US federal law is the basis for many discrimination claims across the country, but state and local laws are also important. Through our mission to democratize access to legal services, we are working to expand the Discrimination Claims Navigator to state and local law, but we are not there yet. You can read more about our mission below.
How it works
The Discrimination Claims Navigator works on your desktop or mobile. When you start the Discrimination Claims Navigator, you are asked questions that a lawyer would ask that are relevant to a claim. After you've gone through the interview, you receive an overall summary analysis, which is shown by our Claims Dial. After the overall summary, each claim is listed individually, with a description and claims dial for each claim.
The summary and description of each claim is available for download or printing directly from your device. A complete transcript of your answers is delivered along with your summary. The analysis and transcript are downloaded as pdfs.
What you save
The alternative to the Discrimination Claims Navigator is hiring a lawyer. We estimate the Discrimination Claims Navigator is 86% cheaper than hiring a lawyer for the same job. The Relative Advantage Calculator on this page shows how we got to that savings, and let's you put in numbers if you think we're wrong. A few notes:
- We've used $286 as the hourly rate of a lawyer, which is the average hourly rate in Texas in 2020. We used Texas because it's got the lowest hourly rate of the biggest four states by population (California, Texas, Florida and New York). California, Florida and New York are $338, $294 and $357 respectively. The District of Columbia has the highest hourly rate at $380; West Virginia has the lowest at $166. Lawyers may be more or less expensive where you live, and you can change the hourly rate in the Relative Advantage Calculator to reflect the hourly rate of a lawyer where you live.
- We've set the time a lawyer would need to use the product at "0" because you won't need a lawyer to use this product. You do it yourself.
If you want to continue with your claims, you may need a lawyer later, but for an initial analysis, the Discrimination Claims Navigator is extraordinary value. In addition, you can use it as many times as you want while you have access, and you won't be wondering how much your lawyer is going to bill you.
The Mission
The Discrimination Claims Navigator is the first product of PartnerVine Access, an initiative of PartnerVine to democratize access to legal services. We do so in two ways:
- By providing a standardized analysis with software, we bring down the price of a legal analysis for everyone;
- By providing the Discrimination Claims Navigator to Legal Aid Societies for free, we promote access to justice for those with limited or no financial means.
We hope you will support us in democratizing access to legal services. To learn more about PartnerVine Access, click here.

Frequently asked questions
The free trial lasts for 90 days.
The Discrimination Claims Navigator is not a substitute for a lawyer. If you decide to hire a lawyer, you can use the transcript generated by the Discrimination Claims Navigator to discuss your situation. Generally, the Discrimination Claims Navigator is an initial analysis, and a lawyer can help you fit your individual facts and circumstances within an understanding of how local courts and/or administrative agencies are likely to receive your case, which is an important part of understanding your situation.
The Discrimination Claims Navigator doesn't help you prepare or file your claim. Filing deadlines are important, and depend on the rules governing your claim. We don't cover state law yet, and you'll need to know if state law controls to know how and when to file your claim.
